Let’s finally get nursery fees subsidized for all Munich families!
Dear parents,

As you may already have seen from the media, a press conference was held in Munich on Friday 10 January with the title “Let’s finally get nursery fees subsidized for all Munich families”.
Among those taking to the podium at this press conference was our own Head of Education Günther Hanel, a board member of the Bavarian umbrella organization for children’s daycare operators [Dachverband Bayerischer Träger für Kindertageseinrichtungen e.V. (DBTK)].
In his speech, Mr Hanel emphatically demanded that the politicians and administrators responsible finally allow all Munich parents to access the currently iniquitous relief on contributions to municipal institutions and institutions covered by the Münchener Förderformel support formula granted in September 2019, regardless of which operator they use for their children’s daycare. Mr Hanel also drew attention to over 4,000 parent signatures collected on the “Subsidy for all” petition run during the summer of 2019.
The press conference was very well attended and a great success. In addition to parents and children’s daycare operators, SPD and CSU party political factions of the town council also took part. The press was heavily represented and resonance in the media was consequently very high, with all five Munich dailies reporting the event. There was also a report on the local radio station Bayerischer Rundfunk which included quotes from our Had of Education Günther Hanel.

We hope that the press conference and the reporting on it will contribute to the subsidy finally being implemented for all parents in Munich, and we would like to assure you that Minihaus München, in close collaboration with the Dachverband Bayerischer Träger für Kindertageseinrichtungen e.V., will keep up the pressure for this demand.
