TOY-FREE TIME

Toys are important, highly significant in the creativity and development of children. However, “toy-free time” aims to tackle children being overwhelmed with toys, as this gives them too little opportunity to develop their own imaginations and ideas. Actual toys such as cars, bricks, soft toys etc. slip into the background of our educational work for two weeks. The children are provided with plenty of play materials - such as newspaper, cardboard tubes, cardboard boxes, cushions, blankets as well as natural materials - to stimulate their imaginations. In this period, the aim is also to strengthen their ability to communicate and resolve conflict and to build up self-confidence and tolerance of frustration.
