Up-to-date information on emergency childcare at Minihaus nurseries

Dear parents,

The spread of Coronavirus is an immense challenge to all of us at the moment. We are currently setting up emergency childcare at our Minihaus nurseries. The situation as of today is as follows:

Starting today and up to and including 19 April 2020 we will, with a few exceptions, no longer be allowed to care for your children and a prohibition of entry for children will be in force at Minihaus München.

The only exception to this rule are children whose parents or guardians work in areas of critical infrastructure and whose work duties prevent them from caring for their children.

This includes, in particular, all institutions providing health care and nursing services and care for the disabled, child and youth welfare, public safety and law enforcement including non-police emergency management (fire and rescue services and disaster control), maintaining public infrastructure (telecommunication services, supply of energy and water, public transport, waste management), supply of food, and ensuring the operation of key departments of government, judiciary and administration.

(Please note that the supply of food has been added to the above list.)

A further requirement is that no other parent or guardian is available to care for the child(ren). One of the parents or guardians being employed in critical infrastructure does not constitute an exception; in this case the other parent will have to care for the child(ren). For single parents it is sufficient if the single parent is part of the group specified.

The following requirements also apply:

the child shows no symptoms of illness,

the child hasnot been in contact with infected persons or 14 days have passed since the contact with infected persons and the child shows no symptoms of illness,

the child has not been to an area which the Robert Koch-Institut (RKI) classified as risk area at the time of the stay or within 14 days thereafter (information which is updated daily is available online at https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/InfAZ/N/Neuartiges_Coronavirus/Risikogebiete.html, in German) or 14 days have passed since the child’s return from the risk area and the child shows no symptoms of illness.

Other than in the cases specified, parents or guardians may not take their children to Minihaus München. The legal entitlement to child care of § 24 SGB VIII is restricted in this respect.

The Bavarian Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Affairs also requires us to ask you, dear parents, for written confirmation that you and your child(ren) meet the requirements for emergency childcare no later than Wednesday 18 March 2020. We attach the appropriate form for your convenience.

If you need to use emergency childcare over the coming weeks, please telephone us on 089-41 11 49 400 (Ms Veth and Ms Borbely; available Monday to Friday from 8 am until 6 pm) or e-mail kontakt@minihaus-muenchen.de.

We also ask you to complete the form attached („Erklärung zur Berechtigung zu einer Kinderbetreuung im Ausnahmefall“ [Declaration of entitlement to childcare due to exemption]) und hand it in at your Minihaus. These forms are also available at all Minihaus locations, or we can post them to you at your request.

Dear parents, we are doing our utmost to answer all coronavirus questions relating to us as quickly as possible. This does of course also include how to deal with fees and meal charges for the period of 16 March 2020 to 19 April 2020.

We will send out a parents’ newsletter providing specific information in the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience!

We are most grateful to you for your calm, trust and understanding, and we very much hope that you will find good solutions for yourselves and your families in these difficult times and that you will all stay healthy.

You are of course welcome to contact us if you have any questions.
