A visit to teddy bear hospital

Volunteers kindly tend to the “medical problems” of our Minis’ teddy bears

The nursery children from MINIHAUS München Pippinger Strasse visited “teddy bear hospital” at Schwabing’s hospital for humans. There, volunteer medical students kindly tend to the “medical problems” of the children’s favourite soft toys. The aim is to stop the children being afraid if they have to go to the doctor or to hospital.

Lots of examinations are performed as examples: X-ray, ultrasound, taking a temperature, taking blood, ECG – they really do cover everything here. The students recreate the various wards with a lot of attention to detail - there is even a little operating theatre in the teddy bear hospital.

The children can also pick up the right medicine for their soft toy from a little pharmacy. Volunteers from the fire service and the emergency services were also on hand to practise a “teddy bear emergency” with the children and to show their vehicles and equipment. Thank you to all those involved for this amazing event! (ks)
